COVID-19 Policy/Procedures Update: Reopening
We are thrilled to announce that we will begin opening on Wednesday, May 13th for ALL Eye care and Eyewear services.
We will have staff training days on May 11th and May 12th to prepare for all of the necessary changes. We will be resuming with slight changes in our hours. Our new hours starting next week will be:
Monday: 10:00am – 6:30pm
Tuesday: 9:00am – 5:30pm
Wednesday: 10:00am – 5:30pm
Thursday: 9:00am – 5:30pm
Friday: 8:00am – 4:00pm
We have made extensive changes in the way our office functions in order to protect the health and safety of patients and our staff. We are taking multiple precautions to ensure that every area is disinfected, sanitized, and safe. We will continue to provide you with the same level of personal care, attention, technology, and professionalism that you have come to expect from our office.
These are just a few of the changes we have implemented as part of our full COVID-19 Preparedness plan:
- Staff COVID symptom and temperature screening conducted daily
- Staff hand washing immediately upon entering and throughout the day and supplemented with hand sanitizer
- Patient COVID symptom and temperature screening upon entering
- Patient hand sanitizer given upon entering or hand-washing
- Multiple hand-washing and hand sanitizer stations present throughout the office
- All Staff and Doctors will wear masks and clean scrubs
- Patients will be required to wear a mask (cloth masks or homemade masks are sufficient)
- Acrylic barriers are placed at the front desk, optical stations, and other office locations
- Automated phoropter allows doctor to sit six feet away while conducting the glasses prescription portion of the exam
- Physically distanced waiting area
- Longer exam slots to reduce the number of patients in the office
- Curbside pick-up of glasses and eye wear adjustments
- All patients will check in via text or mobile prior to entering the office
- Free delivery to your home of contact lenses if ordering two or more boxes
- Reduction in the maximum amount of people present in the office
- Patient history will be conducted over the phone or via tele-health
- Extensive cleaning of exam room and testing rooms before and after each patient encounter
- Extensive cleaning of all common areas multiple times daily
- Cleaning and disinfecting eye wear frames after each touch
- Online payments available to reduce in office time
- Weekly meetings with staff to review training protocols and review CDC, MDH, and AOA guidelines
We assure you that we are doing everything we can to stay safe, stay healthy, and continue to provide you with the best care possible. Even though things may look a little different, we promise to provide you the same quality of care that you have come to expect!
